Situation
Park Cameras, a respected UK-based retailer in the photography and videography sector, faced growing challenges with an outdated e-commerce platform. While their reputation and product range remained strong, their digital presence struggled to meet customer expectations and modern usability standards.
Task
Our role was to lead a complete redesign of their UX/UI architecture in collaboration with Brand Refinery and Better Commerce. We were tasked with creating wireframes, high-fidelity mockups, and interactive prototypes to support a seamless transition to a new, scalable platform while aligning with Park Cameras’ evolving brand.
Action
We kicked off with in-depth workshops and stakeholder interviews to map out user pain points and business goals. This led to the creation of data-informed wireframes that reimagined product navigation, categorisation, and checkout flows. Leveraging competitor research and user behaviour analytics, we refined layouts for key screens such as homepage, PLP, and PDP with strategic design blocks and content.

When wireframes proved abstract for the client, we adapted quickly – shifting to high-fidelity mockups built in Figma using the Simple Design System for speed and consistency. With a mobile-first mindset, we integrated clear typography, pastel accents, and improved colour grading while maintaining Park Cameras’ trusted brand feel. Throughout, we ensured close alignment with Better Commerce’s capabilities and development pipeline.
Tailored components for business-specific needs
Given the complexity of Park Cameras’ product offerings, certain design elements required custom solutions rather than off-the-shelf components. In particular, the product detail cards and PDP templates were carefully crafted to accommodate unique business features. These included the integration of ‘promo stacks’, voucher options, and a layered cashback system – all essential for highlighting promotional value and driving conversions without overwhelming the user.

Result (Projected)
- Increased session duration and reduced bounce rate thanks to clearer navigation and cleaner UI.
- A noticeable uplift in conversion rates through streamlined CTAs, simplified checkout, and personalised product suggestions.
- Strengthened brand perception as a modern, user-friendly leader in the photography retail space – poised for long-term growth.
